The Rhondda Sub Aqua Club was founded in 1977.
For the next three decades the club was a member of
The Sub Aqua Association, The SAA.
At the end of 2006 the club members voted to become
part of The British Sub Aqua Club, BSAC.
For many years the club has been centred on The Rhondda
Sports Centre in Ystrad where it would meet once a week
for its club night and diver training in the centres` pool.
Every year the club organises weekend diving ,from the shore
and also using the club boat, a 5.5m RIB. The club has mainly
dived West Wales but we have also visited Devon, Cornwall and
The Gower. We also charter larger boats for trips to various wreck
sites. The club has also carried out diving abroad , such as Eire in
2002 and the Red Sea in 2004.
